
Princeton’s 1997 national champion men’s lacrosse team has claimed the title of Champion of Champions.
Sixteen former national championship teams were pitted head-to-head in a three-week online tournament. More than 14,000 votes were cast by lacrosse fans to determine a Champion of Champions.
The 1997 Tigers earned 55 percent of the final round vote to beat 2012 Loyola Maryland for the title.
The team will be invited to the Ƶ Division I Men's Lacrosse National Championship Game and honored at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on May 25.

Princeton reached a self-imposed 19-goal limit five times in 15 games and outscored its Ivy League opponents 98-33 in six games. At season’s end, the Princeton roster included 10 All-Americans and 13 All-Ivy selections. Its All-American attack of Jesse Hubbard, Jon Hess and Chris Massey combined for 112 goals and 77 assists for 199 points.
