T-1. CJ Kirst, Cornell (224 goals, 2022-2025)
Kirst has been a machine since he first donned red and white for Cornell. In his first true season as a sophomore, after the 2021 season was cancelled, the 6-foot-2 attackman recorded 55 goals, earning him Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. In the ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ tournament, Kirst poured in seven goals in Cornell's first-round win over Ohio State, tying the program record.
His lowest single-season total is 45 goals in 2024, still averaging over three goals per game. Kirst tied the record against Harvard, finding the back of the net five times in a 20-12 win.
T-1. Payton Cormier, Virginia (224 goals, 2020-2024)
Cormier broke the record in style in 2024, tallying eight goals in the Cavaliers' first-round ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ tournament game to set the DI career goal record, single-game ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ tournament program record and Virginia's single-season goal record. He finished his final season with 65 goals, leading Virginia to the national semifinals as a 6-seed, after taking down 3-seed Johns Hopkins.
3. Mac O'Keefe, Penn State (221 goals, 2017-2021)
O'Keefe's junior season is one of the most prolific offensive seasons in DI men's lacrosse history. He tallied 78 goals while leading the Nittany Lions to their best season in program history. Penn State earned its first-ever No. 1 seed in 2019, making it to the national semifinals before falling in a 21-17 shootout against Yale.
His 78 is the third-most in a single season all time, and the attackman holds the top two goal-scoring seasons in program history, totaling 51 as a freshman.
T-4. Justin Guterding, Duke (212 goals, 2015-2018)
Guterding passed fellow Blue Devil Zack Greer in 2018 to break the career goal record. The attackman tallied 66 goals in his senior season, leading Duke to the national championship against Yale. His 113 total points that season rank 11th all-time.
At the time, Guterding became just the second player ever to eclipse 200 career goals. Since 2018, nine more have joined that list, but he still sits inside the top five.
T-4. Dyson Williams, Duke (212 goals, 2020-2024)
Williams tied the former Blue Devil last season after back-to-back 60-plus goal seasons in 2023 and 2024. The 6-foot-2 attackman never recorded double-digit assists in a season, but he knew how to find the back of the net. He scored a goal in 74 of his 78 games and tallied 44 hat tricks during his time in Durham.
Williams led Duke to the national championship in 2023 as the top seed before losing 13-9 to Notre Dame in the title game.
Top-20 career goal leaders
Duke dominates the list with five guys in the top 20. Although its DI program was disbanded in 1982, NC State's Stan Cockerton makes the list at 17, leading all time in goals per game with 4.39.
