Track and field consists of sprints, distance running and field events. With such variety, it can be challenging for a school to excel in all three categories, but a handful of programs have formed elite trios of athletes in each category in 2025. Here are the top 10 sprint-distance-field trios in 红杏视频 track and field.
For the sake of this article, I鈥檒l be grouping mid-distance and distance events together in one category, ranging from the 800 meters to 10,000 meters.
No. 10 Minnesota women
The rankings start with the women of Minnesota. The Gophers have top-10 performers in the distance and field categories. Zoie Dundon鈥檚 9:52.46 in the steeplechase and Diarra Sow鈥檚 13.35 meters in the triple jump give Minnesota the slight edge over another program like Penn State鈥檚 men for the tenth spot in these rankings. In the sprint category, Maja Maunsbach closes Minnesota鈥檚 trio with a 13.12 (+2.1) in the 100 hurdles, good for 19th nationally.
No. 9 Arkansas men
Jordan Anthony鈥檚 wind-legal 9.98 in the 100 meters speaks for itself and the Arkansas men have a few options to pick from in the distance category. I went with 800-meter specialist Rivaldo Marshall, who鈥檚 already broken 1:46 this season, but a true distance specialist like Ben Shearer could鈥檝e worked here too. Henry Kiner rounds out this trio, thanks to his 7.77 meter long jump, which ranks No. 14 in the country.
No. 8 Ole Miss men
At first glance, Ole Miss might not have the versatility to be in the top 10 of these rankings. However, a 10.10-second 100 meters from Joseph Michel and a 13:26.92 5K from Toby Gillen rank 18th and 12th in the country. When combined with a top-three men鈥檚 field event athlete overall, it slots the Rebels at No. 8 in these rankings.
Who is that field athlete? It鈥檚 none other than Tarik Robinson-O鈥橦agan whose 20.75-meter shot put leads the country while his 74.54 meters in the hammer throw ranks fifth. Two top-five marks has Robinson-O鈥橦agan putting the trio on his back, getting Ole Miss into the rankings.

No. 7 Wisconsin men
Wisconsin has two men with the No. 4 national marks in their event, thanks to Adam Spencer鈥檚 3:34.57 in the 1500 meters and Jason Swarens鈥 20.18m shot put throw. Yet, this is a trio, so the Badgers still needed a sprinter to join these rankings. That sprinter is none other than Jalen Williams, who ran a 45.49-second 400 meters this spring.
No. 6 Texas women
Texas boasts a top-20 performer in the 10K with Eva Jess, followed by a pair of top-five performers in the sprint and field categories. Sophomores Nina Ndubuisi and Akala Garrett give the Longhorns two linchpins of a great trio. Ndubuisi鈥檚 18.21-meter shot put is the fifth-best in the country. Garrett has two top-three hurdle marks in the 100 hurdles (12.75 (+2.6)) and 400 hurdles (53.73) to place Texas just outside of the top five.

No. 5 Texas A&M women
Now we鈥檙e in the top five of these rankings and that鈥檚 where the Texas A&M women find themselves slotted. The sprint category is carried by Camryn Dickson, who has the fourth-fastest 100 and 200-meter times nationally. While the distance category is a bit lackluster compared to the rest of the top-five teams, freshman Debora Cherono鈥檚 10:02.32 in the 3000-meter steeplechase is still in the top 25 nationally.
Any concerns about the distance are offset by a great field event athlete with heptathlete Sofia Yakushina. Yakushina鈥檚 6,260 points lead the nation, and since she鈥檚 doing it across multiple events, it gives Texas A&M the boost into the top five.

No. 4 Mississippi State men
Another national leader in the combined events helps Mississippi State climb these sprint-distance-field rankings. The Bulldogs have the nation鈥檚 best decathlete in Peyton Bair, who scored 8,111 points across 10 events. When combined with Abdullahi Hassan鈥檚 1:45.39 in the 800 meters and Alfonso Hale Jr.鈥檚 50.13 in the 400 hurdles, you have a senior-laden Mississippi State trio worthy of being ranked in the top five.
No. 3 Texas Tech men
Texas Tech comes in at No. 3 thanks to its trio of top-10 national performers. Antoine Andrews and Ernest Cheruiyot have the third-best marks in the 110 hurdles and 10,000 meters, respectively. In the field events, BJ Jennings鈥 2.20-meter high jump ranks sixth nationally.

No. 2 Texas A&M men
Texas A&M opened the season ranked No. 1 in the USTFCCCA rankings for the first three weeks before dropping to No. 2 in the most recent update. A significant reason for this is Texas A&M鈥檚 depth across events, most notably in having the top men鈥檚 trio in the sport.
Auhmad Robinson is one of three collegians to run a sub-45 400 meters this season and the fastest in the country. He also has the fourth-fastest 200 meter time at 20.21 (+2.4). Elsewhere, Aleksandr Solovev has cleared 5.56 meters in the pole vault for the No. 3 mark nationally and Kimar Farquharson rounds out the group with his 1:45.99 800-meter finish at Florida Relays, good for sixth nationally.

No. 1 Florida women
The top sprint-distance field trio in the sport can be found in Gainesville, as the Florida women鈥檚 track and field team has three athletes with top-three national marks.
Freshman Habiba Harris leads the nation with her 12.69 (+2.1) time in the 100 hurdles, Hilda Olemomoi has run the third fastest 5K in 15:04.65 at the Bryan Clay Invitational and then there鈥檚 Anthaya Charlton. Charlton could鈥檝e appeared on this list twice herself, given her 6.82-meter long jump (second nationally) and 11.12-second finish in the 100 meters.
This is an elite trio that could be pivotal to Florida鈥檚 postseason hopes.
