Re-ranking the 16 super regional teams in the 2025 红杏视频 baseball tournament

Every college baseball super regional team re-ranked, 1-16

Let鈥檚 re-rank the remaining 16 teams in the 2025 红杏视频 baseball tournament as we head into the super regionals.

For reference, this was done by taking their original seeding done by the committee and then moving them based on regional performance only 鈥 not based on their entire body of work.

1. Arkansas (No. 3 national seed)

Arkansas moves up to No. 1 with Vanderbilt and Texas out. The Razorbacks went undefeated through regionals, taking down Creighton twice 鈥 and pretty convincingly.

2. Auburn (No. 4 seed)

Auburn moves into the No. 2 spot. The Tigers took down NC State 11-1 in the regional final. Ike Irish hit .500 on the weekend, a pretty big offensive performance in the final to put up double-digit runs after a couple of 3-4 run differential games.

3. North Carolina (No. 5 seed)

North Carolina is in the third spot. The Tar Heels did lose a game to Oklahoma, but they definitely had a tough regional, and I think the Tar Heels are looking really good right now. UNC won by 10 runs in Game 2 of the regional finals. Gavin Gallaher was automatic all weekend, hitting over .720 with three bombs, and Jake Knapp sure looked like ACC pitcher of the year 鈥 he didn't give up a run in eight innings pitched.

4. Florida State (No. 9 seed)

I have Florida State in the No. 4 spot. The Seminoles swept through the regionals 鈥 two wins over Mississippi State. Myles Bailey smacked a couple of homers on the weekend while hitting .556, the star of the show for sure.

5. Oregon State (No. 8 seed)

At No. 5, Oregon State. Lost on Day 1 to Saint Mary's and had to make it out of the elimination bracket. Not easy to do, but the offense just came alive, scored 20 runs in another game against Saint Mary's, then had to beat USC twice in the regional finals and put up 14 and 9 runs in each game. Trent Caraway hit five bombs, which is unreal.

6. LSU (No. 6 seed)

LSU is at No. 6 after losing an unexpected one to Little Rock and then had to come from behind in the if necessary game, but the Tigers came out on top 10-6 to advance to the super regionals. A really impressive pitching performance by both Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson on Day 1 and 2, and then the offense came through to get it done.

7. Coastal Carolina (No. 13 seed)

Coastal is at No. 7 after it avoided playing Florida but swept the weekend with two wins over East Carolina, putting up 18 runs in a game.

8. Tennessee (No. 14 seed)

At No. 8, Tennessee 鈥 a big jump from its original seeding. Tough regional, had one loss to Wake Forest, but then followed it up with an 11-5 win. Liam Doyle came in to close, all hands on deck, but the Vols got it done.

9. UCLA (No. 15 seed)

UCLA jumps to No. 9 from its original seeding of 15. I was really impressed by the Bruins, just an offensive explosion all weekend. Big performance at the plate from Payton Brennan and lots of guys stepping up even outside of Roch Cholowsky.

10. Louisville (No national ranking)

I'm going to Louisville at No. 10. Went from unseeded to the top 10 after making it out of Vanderbilt's regional. Took down the No. 1 seed in a close, 3-2 game on Day 2, then closed it out against Wright State, which upset the Commodores in the elimination bracket.

11. UTSA (No national ranking)

UTSA jumps to No. 11 after being unseeded. It beat the No. 2 overall seed, Texas, twice in the regionals to advance to its first-ever super regional. UTSA beat the Longhorns three times this season, as well as winning over other ranked teams. I think this team has shown that it is legit and can seriously produce runs against great pitchers, as well as make outstanding defensive plays. I am rewarding it in the re-rank.

12. Duke (No national ranking)

Duke sits at No. 12 after making it out of Georgia鈥檚 regional. I was also super impressed by the Blue Devils' performance. Wallace Clark hit over .640.

13. West Virginia (No national ranking)

We鈥檝e got West Virginia at No. 13. The Mountaineers beat Clemson, 9-6, then took down Kentucky by a run in the regional final. I kind of view UTSA, Duke and West Virginia all at the same tier here.

14. Arizona (No national ranking)

Arizona is ranked No. 14. I could have possibly ranked it higher, but it didn't have to go through Oregon to make it out. Still an impressive 14-0 win over Cal Poly. Aaron Walton was 4 for 5 with six RBI.

15. Miami (No national ranking)

Miami is at No. 15 after a really impressive run for the Canes to take down Alabama and Southern Miss, beating the hosts by one run in the regional final.

16. Murray State (No national ranking)

Finally, Murray State at No. 16. An unbelievable advancement to its first super regional as well. Took down Ole Miss and Georgia Tech, winning by one run in the final game. Ole Miss came back late, but then the comeback was shut down. Dustin Mercer hit over .550 on the weekend. Can't understate how impressive this was, making it out of an incredibly difficult regional.
