Texas and LSU climb to the top of the final college baseball Power 10 rankings of the regular season. Here's what you need to know:
1. Texas (Prev. 3)
I’ve got Texas back on top. The Longhorns won the series over Oklahoma to move to 42-11 on the season. Ultimately, the Longhorns went 22-8 in the SEC and closed out the best regular season for Texas in 15 years. They earned the No. 1 seed for the SEC tournament. I think they deserve the top spot.
2. LSU (Prev. 2)
LSU won the series against South Carolina and have won seven of their 10 SEC series. The offense put up eight and seven runs the last two games of the series against the Gamecocks.
3. North Carolina (Prev. 4)
North Carolina is at No. 3 after an impressive series win over Florida State. An 11-1 run rule victory in Game 2 secured the series win.
4. Oregon (Prev. 6)
Oregon is at No. 4 after the Ducks swept Iowa to end the regular season. Grayson Grinsell was dominant on the mound in the series opener with a two-hit shutout. The offense hit five bombs in the finale to secure the sweep.
5. Arkansas (Prev. 7)
Arkansas moves up to No. 5 with a big-time series win over Tennessee ahead of the SEC tournament. The Razorbacks now have 20 SEC wins for three straight seasons. Ryder Helfrick had a five-RBI performance, including a grand slam in the rubber match.
6. Oregon State (Prev. 8)
At No. 6, Oregon State. The Beavers swept Long Beach State. Canon Reeder hit two bombs with seven RBI in Game 2, and then Oregon State had a 13-0 run rule win in Game 3.
7. Florida State (Prev. 1)
Florida State drops to No. 7 after losing the series to North Carolina. The Seminoles did pull out a come from behind victory in Game 3 to squeak out a 5-4 win and avoid the sweep.
8. Vanderbilt (Prev. 9)
Vanderbilt moves up a spot to No. 8 — the Commodores swept Kentucky to end the regular season. The first two games of the series were won by walk offs.
9. Georgia (Prev. 10)
Georgia won the series over Texas A&M, still sporting the No. 1 RPI in the nation. Ryland Zaborowski returned to the lineup after missing nine games due to injury.
10. Auburn (Prev. 5)
Finally for No. 10, Auburn stays in, holding on to that last spot to end the regular season. The Tigers drop multiple spots after losing the series to Ole Miss but are not quite out.
Coastal Carolina is my first team out.
